Set up representations

A representation defines how and when a resource is offered in the booking process. It combines distribution channel selection with rentability sets, allowing you to apply different booking conditions per channel. For example, you may set a minimum stay of 3 nights on Airbnb, while giving your call centre the flexibility to book shorter stays when availability allows.

In a representation, you link:

• One or more distribution channels (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com)
• A bookable date range, defined by book and stay dates (e.g. starting next year)
• A rentability set or individual rules

Create a representation

1. Navigate to the accommodation types menu in the Content Manager.
2. Select the accommodation type you want to update.
3. Open the Representations panel.
4. Click Create representation (bottom right).
5. Enter a name and code for the representation. Add a description if needed.
6. Set the bookable and visible statuses:
7. Set both to On to make the accommodation type available for online booking and within Maxxton.
8. Set both to Off if the accommodation is not yet rentable or no longer available.
9. Select the Distribution Channels (DC) for which this representation is applicable. You can select individual DCs, all DCs, or DC groups.
10. Select whether you want to add a rentability set or not.
11. Click Finish.

After creating the representation

1. Click on the row to open your new representation.
2. Check all settings, including rentability and linked distribution channels, to ensure everything is configured correctly.

Edit a representation

1. Navigate to the representation (set) that you would like to edit
2. Make the necessary changes in your representation configuration

Delete a representation

If you no longer want to use a representation, you can archive it. It is not possible to delete a representation. Proceed with caution, as you cannot undo an archive, and this may affect existing reservations.
