The fiscal year ledger collects all income for a specific fiscal year in one place. It serves as a holding area before Maxxton converts the income into revenue through the revenue distribution module.
Each admin organisation (AO) has its own fiscal year ledger. This ensures accurate separation and reporting of financial data across entities and time periods.

Note

The concepts of fiscal year and fiscal year ledger are different. Refer to Set up fiscal year for details on their distinction and for more information about the fiscal year configuration.

Create a fiscal year ledger

If you have not yet created your standard ledgers, set those up first. A fiscal year ledger can only be assigned to existing ledgers. For more information on creating a ledger, refer Set up ledgers.

Follow these steps to create a fiscal year ledger:

  1. Navigate to Finance Manager.
  2. Create a fiscal year (refer Set up fiscal year)  and select the ledger that will serve as your fiscal year ledger.
  3. Navigate to the Admin organisation (AO) by expanding the Configuration menu item in the Finance Manager.
  4. Select the AO.
  5. Click Add Ledger.
  6. Choose the correct fiscal year.
  7. Select the designated ledger.
  8. Click Add ledger to confirm.

Tips

  • The fiscal year ledger is set up per AO, so in case of multiple AOs, multiple fiscal year ledgers need to be configured.
  • Create one fiscal year ledger per AO to keep transactions organised by AO and fiscal year.
  • Fiscal year ledger is often the ‘Customer account’ or ‘Customer Balance’ (#411 Compte Client in France)
