Representations
A representation defines how an accommodation, add-on, or offer appears on a specific distribution channel. It ensures the correct booking conditions apply for each channel.
Importance of representations
Representations give you control over how your resources are distributed. They let you:
- Set different booking conditions for each channel.
- Simplify configuration by linking channel groups to rentability sets.
- Stay flexible without duplicating accommodation setups.
Conditions considered in a representation
A representation takes into account the following:
- Distribution channels – one or more channels or channel groups, such as your website, call centre, Airbnb, or Booking.com.
- Bookable date range – defined by book and stay dates.
- Rentability rules – conditions like minimum stay, arrival and departure days, or booking restrictions.
Example
Consider the accommodation type Chalet 6 persons.
- For direct channels (website and call centre), you may allow single-night bookings using a flexible rentability set.
- For external channels (Airbnb, Booking.com), you may enforce stricter rules, such as a three-night minimum stay.
Representations let you apply both rule sets to the same accommodation type, tailored to the right channels.
