Importing allows you to create multiple accommodation types and their units simultaneously, instead of setting them up individually. This is especially useful when setting up a new holiday park or migrating existing data.

Before starting, ensure you understand how to Create accommodation types and units and how they are structured.

Use the import functionality when:

  • You want to create multiple accommodation types at the same time.
  • You are migrating data from another system.
  • You want to ensure consistent naming, coding, and descriptions across types.

Note

If you only need to create one or two accommodation types, it is faster to create them manually.

How the import works

To enter your accommodation type and unit data, use a template file. You can download this file via the Import functionality in the Batch updates menu item in Content Manager. In the import template file:

  • Each row represents one unit.
  • Each column represents a data field in Maxxton.
  • The second sheet provides additional information and instructions to complete the template for import.

After uploading, the system automatically creates the types and their units.

Accommodation types created via import follow the same tree structure as those created manually:

  • Parent accommodation types: folders, not bookable.
  • Bookable accommodation types: linked to units.
  • Units: created automatically if defined in the file.

Tip

Always run your import file in the acceptance environment before uploading it to production.
